Traffic Safety Education (TSE) Course
The course includes 30 hours of classroom instruction (classroom lectures, bookwork, daily quizzes, and videos ).  Students will spend 6 hours behind the wheel with an instructor, getting experience in freeway driving, city driving, emergency procedures, parking, and basic defensive driving tactics.  The 1 to 6 hours of observation allows the student to observe other student drivers in a way that will enhance their own understanding of the driving experience.

TEST PILOT/KNOWLEDGE TEST ON SITE
A-Team Driving School is part of the "Knowledge Test Pilot" program. This means any student enrolled in our Traffic Safety Education course (under the age of 18 on or after the first lesson) will take our 100 question test. If a student passes the test, and our TSE course, they do not need to take the DOL written test. For more information please contact us at (425) 776-1242.

Discounts
We encourage students to sign up for classes and drive with a friend.  This saves gas and enhances learning by giving extra time for observation.  We offer a “Buddy Discount” for friends who enroll together.
There also may be discounts for “Early Bird” sign-up, for active members of the military, and for siblings of prior “A Team” Driving School students.  Our office staff can give you details on all discounts and payment plans.  Call us at (425) 776-1242.

Traffic Safety Education
in Washington State

Washington State law mandates a graduated
license requirement for beginning drivers.  The graduated license “6-6-6” rules are summarized as follows:

The first 6 months is training time, with a Learner’s Permit from the Dept. of Licensing (DOL).  This is where a student takes a certified course and practices with experienced drivers (50 hours).
On completion of the course, with certification issued by the school, a 16-year old driver may take the written and practical exams at DOL.

The second 6-month period allows the driver to drive with family, except for during the hours of 1:00 and 5:00 a.m.  No passengers are allowed who are not family members or over age 21.

If you maintain a clear driving record, you may enter the third 6-month phase, which allows you to have up to 3 peers as passengers.  Driving between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. is still not allowed during this period.

Permit
If you are at least 15 years of age you are eligible to receive your driver's permit if you are enrolled in a traffic safety education course. A-Team Driving School will provide each student with a permit waiver form. The permit waiver form allows each student to receive their permit through the Department of Licensing. Students, under the age of 18, who pass their A-Team final exam are not required to take a written exam at the D.O.L.

Vehicles
We own a 2007 Ford Focus, this compact car allows for maximum vision and steering capabilities. Our spacious 2005 Pontiac Grand Am gives students experience in a mid-size car. A-Team Driving School only drives American made vehicles.

Behind the Wheel Sessions

Our drives integrate all aspects of everyday driving situations.  Training students in freeway experience during every drive, practicing HOV driving, hill parking, parallel parking, backing around a corner, and parking.  Our instructors teach each student in Seattle to prepare them for real world driving, this drive teaches students pedestrian, bicycle, and one-way street hazards.  Defensive driving techniques along with hazard training allow each student to prepare themselves for everyday driving.
